"Red Walls and Homesteads"

Red Walls and Homsteads "Red Walls and Homesteads"
by Helena Thomas Rubottom
Paperback book with photos
186 pages - $17.60

"This is a family chronicle written by Mrs. Rubottom. It reads like a novel, but it is history as seen through the eyes of a perceptive and sensitive girl.

The courage of Mother May through her many "walks with worry" was exceptional even among pioneer women. May begins the story with recollections of her life in Wisconsin, Nebraska, and finally to Wyoming in 1888.

The child, Betty, growing up on the homestead at EK Mountain, was isolated by the Red Wall from the rest of the world. Her world was peopled by cowboys, sheepherders, outlaws, and homesteaders. She recounts their adventures as they affected the family."
